谨言慎行不是为了自己有多么高尚的品行而是出于对上主的敬畏之心，因为将来必有审判会临到。所以言语，行为当然很重要，我们虽然不是靠着行为得救但却需要行为来显明我们得救。真正得救的必然会有好的言语，行为，不可能继续在罪中作乐放纵私欲而没有良心责备。
